Here is our future snow-boarding champ. Actually thanks to Mimi and Granddad, Ella just got her new pair of Ponseti foot abduction braces. They maintain the correction of her club foot. She may need them for a couple more years, but she only has to wear them when she sleeps. She handles it really well, especially since now that she runs and climbs. They make her resort to a crawl although she has sure tried walking in them. In other news our family has been in a sickness funk. Josh had a fever for the better part of a week then I got a horrible stomach flu followed by both of the kids. At nine months pregnant it was a pretty rough time. I am so thankful for family and community (and you know who you are) who just stepped up with childcare and all the creature comforts chicken soup, Gatorade, jello, movies. It is so nice to be taken care of without even asking.
I was a little sad when I returned from my appointment with my midwife today because the girl is still in a posterior position which from what I can tell means I could either be in for a very difficult back labor or a c-section. I have been between 4.5 and 5 cm dilated and 80% effaced so I am really praying she turns. If you remember please pray for this, and if any of you mamas have any advice for getting her to turn let me know.
Needless to say between barfing kids and men working in our house and just sheer exhaustion I barely remembered that I turned 29 today. This evening as I sit I am so overwhelmed. As the day went on, cards and flowers and other little tokens poured in making the day very special and encouraging. Josh and I could not really go out as Juden is still recovering but it felt like a little in home date as Susan Green cooked us an exquisite meal and I even had a homemade birthday cake from Jen with candles and all. Thanks to all who poured out love on me, it could not have come at a better time.

This past week, every time I felt bad (still a little sick) I just remember that you guys were having it so rough. I'm glad you all are doing better and I will pray for that baby to turn the right way. God is going to take care of you all and bring your new baby girl at just the right time. blessings!
You know, this is proof that I've been very distracted lately. I completely forgot that Dana was posterior too, hence the back labor. However, I will say that it doesn't mean you have to get a c-section. I was GBS postitive, on pitocin, had my water broken, and an epidural and he still came out, all without a c-section. We will definitely pray for your little one to turn, but don't worry if she doesn't turn. God has you and baby Green in the palm of His hand. He doesn't forget.
My little darling is beautiful in any footware. So glad the flu has passed. Very worrying (moms are great at that) and annoying that I am so far away. So thankful for your family and wonderful friends who step right in. Will be glad when our new baby girl is out! All my love, Mom
so glad to see little ella girl fairing so well with her new shoes!!!
and glad to know that you all are healthy again!
lindy... we are continually uplifting you in prayer... we know that god will protect you and that sweet new little girl (and hopefully she will shimmy around too!!!)
We just love you guys so much! Let me know if ya need anything at all!
Ok, here is what my midwife told me because Jack was posterior too (you may already know this)...
Try not to sit in positions where you are reclined back but try and sit forward and when you are sitting. At the table lean forward on your forearms and try and hang your stomach forward as much as possible. Maintain upright or forward leaning positions as much as you can. She also said to get my hips higher than my knees and my belly lower than the spine for at least a short time every day. Also, and most importantly, sleep on your left side. I did this with both my children and I am the first in my family (not sure about Kelly) not to have a baby in a posterior position and not go through back labor. It really worked for me.
Hope you guys are feeling much better. You guys have beautiful children - can't wait to see the new one!
Thanks for the advice michelle. I have been doing this quite a bit with no luck so far. It's funny how they seem like all the most uncomfortable positions though there are not that many comfortable positions when your this pregnant. Congrats on the newest niece!
How about an update and some pics on the newest Green! Those of us on the other side of the USA need some pics.
